Description

Mobikey Trucks and Bus Uganda is hiring a Warehouse Team Leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of trucks, buses, spare parts, and other related products. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective leader with a strong understanding of warehouse management principles, inventory control, and logistics. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of materials to support our after-sales service, workshop, and sales departments, ultimately contributing to the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Warehouse Operations:
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of all goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure a smooth workflow and compliance with company standards.
  • Manage and maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the warehouse environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and effective use of all warehouse vehicles, machinery, and equipment, such as forklifts.
• Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through a systematic approach to stock control.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts, reconciling physical counts with the automated system.
  • Implement and utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, generate reports, and improve overall operations.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, forecast future capacity requirements, and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Logistics & Supply Chain:
  • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., sales, workshop, procurement) to ensure that material requirements are met and services are of the highest quality.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transport companies to schedule inbound and outbound shipments and resolve any logistics issues.
  • Ensure all documentation related to goods-in and goods-out is accurate and up-to-date.
• Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve team productivity and accuracy.
• • • Develop, implement, and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures in compliance with health and safety regulations in Uganda.
    • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements.
    • Establish and monitor high standards of security for the warehouse and its stock.Health, Safety, and Security:
• Performance Monitoring:
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the warehouse, such as order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management on warehouse activities and performance.
  • Continuously review operations to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.

Qualifications and Skills

• • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader or in a similar supervisory role, preferably within the automotive, machinery, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and logistics processes.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local health and safety regulations in Uganda.
