JOB DETAILS:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Veterinary Doctor to join our poultry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our poultry flocks, implementing disease control measures, and providing expert advice on animal health and welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Flock Health Management:
   • Conduct regular farm visits to monitor flock health and detect early signs of disease.
   • Develop and implement health plans to promote flock health and reduce disease incidence.
   • Investigate and diagnose disease outbreaks, and recommend appropriate treatments.
2. Disease Control and Biosecurity:
   • Develop and implement biosecurity protocols to prevent disease introduction and spread.
   • Conduct regular biosecurity audits and provide recommendations for improvement.
   • Collaborate with farm staff to ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols.
3. Vaccination and Medication:
   • Develop and implement vaccination programs to protect flocks from diseases.
   • Prescribe and administer medications as needed, following regulatory guidelines.
4. Animal Welfare:
   • Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and regulations.
   • Provide guidance on animal handling, welfare, and humane treatment.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with farm staff, management, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal flock health.
   • Provide regular updates on flock health status and disease trends.
   • Communicate effectively with farm staff, management, and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

1. Degree in veterinary with specification poultry and related courses
2. Registration with relevant veterinary authorities.
3. Experience in poultry health and disease management.
4. Strong knowledge of poultry health, disease diagnosis, and treatment.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
