Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. The mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with other team members to deliver high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and necessary repairs.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Perform electrical system diagnostics and repairs, including wiring and battery issues.
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs are completed.
- Collaborate with team members to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices.
- Order and manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for repairs.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Participate in continuous training and development programs to enhance skills.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and warranty requirements during repairs and maintenance.
- Contribute to workshop cleanliness and organization, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in automotive technology is preferred.
- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Valid valid driver's license essential but not necessary.
Working Conditions:
- The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
- Exposure to chemicals, noise, and moving vehicles.
