JOB DETAILS:

Background Information:

UG-Triage Nurse contributes to Medical International’s calling by triaging patients through registration, taking immediate action in emergency cases, and directing patients to the correct department.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and inform them about how the facility functions.
• Ensure the availability of a comfortable waiting area for patients and attendants.
• Ensure a good flow of patients to avoid overcrowded rooms and patients standing for a long time while waiting to meet with clinical staff.
• Bring to the attention of the Nurse Supervisor or Clinical Officer any patient with an obvious serious medical problem.
• Provide basic first aid as required.
• Collaborate with Data Clerks to complete patient registration forms in accordance with organizational protocols and maintain files in good condition.
• Ensure patient data confidentiality.
• Assist in maintaining a clean environment in the triage unit.
• Participate in patient and attendant health education as needed.

Qualifications:

• Certificate in Enrolled Nursing or Certificate in Enrolled Comprehensive Nursing
• Valid CPR and first aid certifications

Experience:

Minimum 6 months of experience in triage activities. Preferred: Experience working with international NGOs.
