JOB DETAILS:
Role of the Job:
To manage the bank’s foreign exchange position and invest excess funds in the money market to generate profits while maintaining the required liquidity.
Key Result Areas:
1. Maintain and update the investment schedule.
2. Conduct market research to identify market trends.
3. Monitor cash and bank balances for sound liquidity management.
4. Negotiate competitive pricing for assets and liabilities to achieve stable net income.
5. Ensure compliance with cash management procedures.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
7. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly compliance reports.
8. Engage in foreign exchange trading for both wholesale and retail clients.
9. Design and implement sales plans to attract more customers, working with branches to identify potential clients and networking opportunities.
10. Manage foreign exchange customer records and transactions for continuous engagement.
11. Collaborate with the Treasury Dealer to manage foreign exchange trading functions effectively.
Sales Strategy:
1. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve fixed-income sales targets.
2. Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities for fixed-income products.
Market Analysis:
1. Monitor financial markets, economic indicators, and interest rate movements.
2. Provide timely and relevant advice to clients based on market conditions.
Risk Management:
1. Assess and manage risks associated with fixed-income transactions.
2. Implement risk mitigation strategies when necessary.
Reporting:
1. Generate regular reports on fixed-income sales performance.
2. Update management on market developments and client interactions.
Customer Service:
1. Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
2. Ensure high customer satisfaction through effective communication.
Collaboration:
1. Collaborate with research, trading, and compliance teams.
2. Work with internal teams to achieve overall treasury and bank objectives.
Required Competencies:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
o Professional certifications (e.g., ACI) are an added advantage.
• Experience:
o At least two years of experience in a financial institution within the treasury department.
o A professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Skills and Attributes:
o Distinction in Math and English at O’Level.
o Demonstrated sales and customer relationship management skills.
o Networking skills and a sound knowledge of the banking environment.
o Strong analytical skills and ability to make informed decisions to maximize forex revenues.
o Proficiency in computers and business acumen.
