JOB DETAILS:
Role Overview:
The Treasurer manages the SACCO’s financial operations, ensuring proper financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. They are responsible for the overall financial health of the SACCO.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements to the Board and AGM.
• Ensure proper financial systems are in place for transparency and accountability.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting processes, and expenditure against approved budgets.
• Collaborate with the SACCO Manager to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Provide financial reports and advice to the Board on SACCO investments and growth strategies.
Requirements:
• Academic qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Experience in financial management, preferably within a SACCO or cooperative.
• High ethical standards and strong analytical skills.

1. Applications must include a filled application form and detailed personal profile (forms available from the Society management/secretariat).
2. A member may apply for a maximum of two positions.
3. All requirements/conditions for the different positions must align with the laws governing Cooperative Societies in Uganda and bye laws.
4. The selection process includes a face-to-face interview with the Vetting Committee.
5. Dissatisfied members can file complaints.
6. The Committee will present its final vetting report at the AGM.
7. SACCO leadership is purely voluntary.
8. Applicants must have fully paid up subscriptions and be in good standing.
