JOB DETAILS:
The Transport Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our transportation operations. They will be responsible for the overall management of the workshop and transport activities, ensuring that all equipment and tools are kept safe and maintained in sound working condition.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles.
- Assist in recruitment of drivers and mechanics.
- Assigning of duties to mechanics and drivers.
- Appraising performance of drivers and mechanics.
- Liaise with the purchasing department and advice on procurement of appropriate spare parts.
- Formulate and implement strategies to reduce time loss, prevent theft of spares and curb misuse of fuel and vehicles.
- Ensuring that all vehicle insurance, road licenses and inspections are applied for in time.
- Assess accident damage costs and handle insurance claims.
- Oversee vehicle fueling and maintain accurate fuel consumption records.
- Ensuring that vehicles are kept clean and in good working condition.
- Enforce discipline among drivers and mechanics.
- Arranging and coordinating transport requirements for all outside assignments.

- Strong organizational, leadership and decision-making skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel upcountry or elsewhere when necessary.
- Availability to respond to emergencies or breakdowns at any time of the day.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Proven experience in transportation management, preferably within the private security sector.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Educational Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a busy organization
