JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Job
To assist the Transport Officer in planning, managing and monitoring the transport system and operations of the University fleet.
Responsibilities
- To coordinate the operation and maintenance of all vehicles and tracks daily allocations.
- To maintain records for due date of renewal of vehicle licenses and insurance.
- To prepare monthly status report on all vehicles and their allocations in or out of the University.
- To issue fuel and maintain proper records of supervision of drivers and their welfare.
- To maintain proper records on all vehicles servicing schedules and garages that service, repair university vehicles.
- To perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Key Outputs
- Operations and maintenance of all vehicles and tracks coordinated.
- Records for renewal of vehicle licenses and insurance maintained.
- Monthly status report on all vehicle allocations prepared.
- Fuel issued and proper records of supervision of drivers maintained.
- Records on vehicle servicing schedules and garages maintained.
Requirements
- Should have a Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
- Must have strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Should be computer literate, capable of using computer software packages.
- Should have three (3) years’ work experience in management of fleet of vehicles.
- Should have sound knowledge in project management, strategic planning and budgeting.
- Age Limit: Not above 55 years old at the time of application.

5. Track Your Application
- Go to "My Applications" to track your job status. - Possible application statuses:
- Submitted – Application received.
- Under Review – The employer is reviewing your application.
- Shortlisted – You have been selected for an interview.
- Rejected – Your application was not successful.
6. Prepare for the Interview (If Shortlisted)
- If selected, you will receive an email notification with interview details. - Research the university and the job role. - Practice common interview questions. - Dress professionally and be punctual.
7. Accept the Job Offer
- If you pass the interview, you will receive a job offer email. - Review the contract and salary details. - Accept the offer and follow the onboarding instructions.
