Job Description/Requirements
Wagagai Mining (U) Limited is a large-scale gold mining and refining facility located in Busia, Uganda, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liaoning Hongda Enterprise Group. The company's gold mine project covers 9.24 square kilometers and is designed to sustain production for 20 to 30 years. The facility is designed to process 5 tons of gold ore per day and refine it to 99.99% purity. Wagagai is setting up all aspects of the mining value chain, including exploration, mining, beneficiation, smelting, refining, logistics, and foreign trade sales, according to the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation. The first phase of construction was completed in 2022 with a $500 million investment, and the second phase is scheduled for completion by mid-2024 with an additional $500 million investment. A third phase, with a further $300 million investment, is planned between 2025 and 2027.
