Role Overview

As a Tour and Travel Guide, you will play a crucial role in shaping the travel experiences of our clients. You will lead individuals and groups on tours, sharing insightful information while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws. Your ability to problem-solve and adapt to various situations will be key to your success in this dynamic role.

Position Details

  • Reporting Structure: Reports to Tour Manager
  • Start Date: Immediately

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead individuals or groups to tour site locations and describe points of interest.

2. Explain hunting and fishing laws to groups to ensure compliance.

3. Arrange for tour or expedition details such as accommodations, transportation, and necessary medical personnel.

4. Resolve any problems with itineraries, service, or accommodations.

5. Sell travel packages.

6. Verify amounts and quality of equipment prior to expeditions or tours.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Education Requirements: Post-secondary diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management or related fields.
• Required Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role.
• Required Skills: Service Orientation, Speaking, Time Management, Critical Thinking, Complex Problem Solving.
• Technology Knowledge: Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (Salesforce), analytical software (Seaborn, Power BI), and mobile location-based services (Google Maps, Apple Maps).
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, Luganda, and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred Responsibilities: Attend to special needs of tour participants; Evaluate services received on the tour; Sell or rent equipment, clothing, and supplies related to expeditions.
• Desired Skills: Reading Comprehension, Complex Problem Solving, Judgment and Decision Making.
• Preferred Knowledge Areas: Customer and Personal Service.
