NOV Wellsite Services Uganda is seeking an experienced Thermal Plant Operator. In this role you ensure equipment is repaired and maintained as per NOV maintenance schedule stated in the equipment manual and optimize equipment performance in order to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure detailed maintenance records of all equipment are compiled as requested by direct supervisor through the provided documentation formats and return this documentation at the end of each shift to your supervisor.
  • Address any equipment performance concerns to your direct supervisor within 24 hours of notice and order materials for rectification of any issues accordingly.
  • Report to check in desk of appropriate departure point when requested.
  • Report to company office as and when requested during normal working hour
  • Report to company office one week in advance via email or telephone prior to scheduled date of return to work.
  • Ensure all your required certificates are valid i.e. (Medical / HUET / Basic Offshore Survival / H²S)
  • Fill out Monthly Engineering Report for each time you visit at the work side which is to be signed off by the client prior to leaving the side and provide signed tickets to your supervisor before returning to home.
  • Report usage of materials at the work site through the Spares Usage Report and notify consumption through the equipment usage report. This should be submitted at the end of each month or at the end of your shift to your supervisor and you will be kept responsible for the inventory at all times.
  • Compile and submit daily equipment performance reports to town at the requested time by client via email or fax.

To Succeed In This Role, You Should Have The

  • Ability to operate NOV equipment as per procedures stated in the manual including but not limited to HTDU’s Centrifuges / Cuttings Dryers / Shale Shakers.
  • Ability to maintain & troubleshoot all NOV equipment including but not limited to HTDU’s Centrifuges / Cuttings Dryers / Shale Shakers.
  • Ability to investigate Mechanical Equipment problems.
  • Ability to investigate Electrical Equipment problems.
  • Ability to work with a computer, send emails.
  • Ability to determine NOV products and their purpose.
  • Ability to read and understand reports to understand possible equipment performance concerns.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all personnel onsite and with the client in English.
