JOB DETAILS:
B1. Overall Purpose of the Job
To install new instruments, calibrate field instruments and electronic equipment, lay cables, and perform maintenance on instrumentation systems to ensure their efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instrument Installation:
o Install new field instruments and cables.
2. Maintenance and Repair:
o Maintain and service field transmitters and instruments such as control valves, regulators, pressure gauges, and temperature gauges.
o Conduct repairs, fault finding, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.
3. Support in Erection and Commissioning:
o Assist the Instrument Supervisor in the erection and commissioning of field instruments.
4. Shift Operations:
o Manage shift operations related to instrumentation and control systems.
5. Training:
o Train subordinates to enhance their skills in handling instrumentation tasks.
6. Housekeeping:
o Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
7. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to the company’s safety, health, and environmental policies.
8. Additional Duties:
o Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor – Instrumentation or Management.
C. Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
C1.1 Education:
• A minimum of a Diploma in one of the following fields:
o Electronics and Instrumentation
o Electrical and Electronics
o Electronics and Telecommunication
C1.2 Experience, Skills, and Competencies:
• Experience:
o At least two (2) years of working experience as a fitter in a busy organization.
• Technical Skills:
o Expertise in maintenance, repair, and adjustment of installations.
o Proficiency in fault-finding and troubleshooting.
o Skills in servicing and adjusting control systems and instruments.
o Knowledge of electrical power systems and safety regulations.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
