We build and deploy cloud-connected "KOKOpoints" inside local retail outlets, which serve as consumer access points for goods and services delivered in partnership with major suppliers. Our first consumer solution is liquid ethanol cooking fuel, which delivers significant cost savings and quality of life improvements in the multi-billion dollar urban cooking market. In Kenya, this solution is delivered in partnership with Vivo Energy, the company which owns and operates Shell-branded fuels distribution infrastructure across Africa.

The position will require you to work within different sectors of the company such as Product Maintenance, Sales & Customer Service and Project Management, to enable KOKO achieve its goal, to transform life in the world’s fastest-growing cities.

What You Will Do

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the KOKO Uganda project activities and ensure 100% up-time of our field operations;
  • Ensure the KOKO hardware is in good working condition according to set specifications and as needed for the Customer base;
  • Drive KOKO’s growth in business volume and profitability.
  • Administration & Project Management
  • Manage and monitor the daily project activities and provide general coordination of operations with Customer related feedback and systematic report writing in partnership with our KOKO Kenya office.
  • Tracking and recording of Customer data (which might and is not limited to sales, household demographics and Customer feedback).
  • Prepare for and support KOKO’s business team and visitors that may visit the field operations.
  • Product Maintenance
  • Perform regular tests and inspection procedures to ensure KOKO hardware works in accordance with specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems requirements.
  • Sales & Customer Care
  • Act as a brand ambassador at internal and external brand events with the sales force.
  • Offer excellent client service through effective communication, feedback and respond to requests for service, results and delivery.
  • Scope for potential sales partners as we grow

What You Will Bring To Koko

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a field maintenance capacity with technical skills.
  • Prior work experience in International or mid-sized companies.
  • Have proficiency in the use of basic computer applications and simple electronics & systems debugging.
  • Lab and workshop skills - e.g soldering, wiring, drilling, safe use of hand and power tools etc.
  • Sense of business and brand ownership.
  • High level of creativity and awareness and ability to maintain focus in a demanding and fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills- fluent in English & Luganda.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and precision.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in your attitude and approach to work.
