The EpiC Uganda Technical Advisor (TA), Private Sector Engagement is primarily responsible for providing ongoing technical and coordination support to MOH, project team, and private health sector actors to contribute to effective implementation of the national COVID-19 vaccine deployment plan, as well strengthen the general immunization platform for private sector health service providers across the country. The position is based in Kampala, Uganda and reports to the Senior Technical Advisor, Vaccine Service Delivery.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Strengthen MOH capacity to engage private sector supply chain organizations to identify investors, importers, and distributors alongside private providers to build synergies and establish networking opportunities for vaccine import and service delivery
Work closely with the EpiC Uganda project team and stakeholders to network with and provide space for MOH to effectively engage with private sector actors to identify opportunities for leveraging the private sector in importation, distribution, and delivery of vaccines
• Leverage MOH efforts to support private sector actors to conduct respective micro-planning exercises effective to align the private sector contribution to the national vaccine deployment plan.
• Coordinate with representatives of private sector actors to conduct an assessment of preparedness for private sector facilities to roll out COVID-19 vaccinations, and coordinate processes for development, implementation and tracking of roll out plans
Work closely with the MOH EPI Division, EpiC project team and other USAID and United States Government (USG) implementing partners (IPs) to support national implementation through an information-driven approach to identifying and addressing processes and system gaps to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the EPI platform in the private sector nationally
• Work with the EpiC project team to jointly implement workplan activities for building capacity (skills and knowledge) of site-level service delivery teams to provide quality services, especially in the private sector
• Support the development of workplans, budgets, case studies, success stories, reports and other documents required by the client or FHI 360 HQ.

Required Experience & Qualifications
• A basic degree in medicine or related health sciences, AND a post-graduate degree in either Public Health or Epidemiology or another related field
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in public health program implementation
• Experience and/or knowledge on Uganda’s public sector immunization program, including related key monitoring indicators will be of added advantage
• Ability to work with and understand health data and health management information systems, including presentation of data in creative ways.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with other donors and partners
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills
Master’s degree in Health Sciences or related field (MPH preferred). Clinical degree preferred.
• At least 6 years’ experience in providing technical advice to health response programs, preferably within the private sector.
• At least 3 years’ experience in experience and/or knowledge on Uganda’s public sector immunization program, including related key monitoring indicators will be of added advantage.
• Ability to work with and understand health data and health management information systems, including presentation of data in creative ways.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with other donors and partners
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to conduct and deliver thorough analysis, report writing and dissemination of information to a broad range of audiences
• Experience with working on a donor-funded projects a strong benefit
• English fluency required.
• Position open to Ugandan nationals or individuals who have the legal authority to work in Uganda
• Travel Requirements:
• 10-25% within Uganda
