Job Description/ Requirements
As Sustainability Manager, you will report directly to the Public Affairs Communication and Sustainability Director.
Key Purpose Statement
The role will be responsible for the development and implementation of the organization's sustainability vision, strategic priorities, and implementation framework, and providing subject matter expertise to teams, including tools, processes, and best practices related to sustainability.
Key Outputs & Accountabilities
Develop a sustainability framework for the organization
Provide strategic sustainability input to the organization leadership and to Business Partners, and drive System alignment on sustainability matters.
Take charge of all the organization's sustainability projects including project management, execution, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Integrate sustainability into the organization's operations and develop compliance and reporting guidelines.
Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partnerships to align the organization's sustainability goals/objectives. Develop and manage the organization's sustainability database, scorecard, tools, metrics, and indicators for assessing progress toward sustainability goals.
Develop and coordinate a process that leads to the creation of uniform company sustainability standards and makes the company a leader in sustainability.
Drive sustainability and community strategic alignment with the company.
Identify partners and platforms to showcase the organization's leadership & progress in sustainability and community work.
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience And Competences
Qualification
Minimum requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
Added advantage: Master's Degree in Business
Administration, Management, or Engineering; training/ qualifications in ESG and sustainability.
Experience
Minimum requirement: Minimum 7 years experience in sustainability, community development, Stakeholder Management, and Engagement, at the middle to senior management level
Extensive experience in strategic planning and execution of planned sustainability initiatives
Proven ability to manage budgets and work with implementing
Competencies
Deep understanding of sustainability matters relevant to the private sector and beverage industry.
Strong ability to evaluate community needs and develop a strategic fit for the organization's priorities.
Ability to lead culture change, mobilize internal & external resources, and build a winning culture to accomplish defined sustainability goals.
Ability to build effective linkages, partnerships & relationships with key internal & external communities & institutions.
Strong leadership, influences up the chain of command for buy-in and ability to inspire teams.
Good business acumen
