JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of position
The surveillance coordinator will play a key role in the PRISM project, leading comprehensive surveillance activities
Job Description
1. Sensitization of district and local stakeholders
2. Leadership and coordination of health facility surveillance and cross-sectional surveys
3. Planning and budgeting for field activities
4. Participation in the development of protocols, SOPs, and data collection tools
5. Conducting data quality assessments, mentorship, and CMEs at health facilities
6. Ensuring proper administration of informed consent, proper collection and management of data and samples from study sites.
7. Prepare and distribute study updates and reports
8. Lead study team meetings
9. Participate in data analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of study findings in collaboration with the data management team and the investigators.
Key Result Areas/Outputs
1. Leadership, supervision of staff, and team management
2. Implementation of study activities including surveys, data quality assessments, mentorship and CMEs for health workers at the MRC sites, and other fieldwork
3. Data and sample management including collection and analysis
4. Report and manuscript writing
5. Storage and maintenance of study documents including informed consent forms and other regulatory files.
Qualifications and other desirables for the job
• MBChB/MD – Minimum Qualification
• Registration with the UMDPC & valid Annual Practicing License
• Master of Public Health/Master of Science (Added advantage)
• Experience carrying out research (research at undergraduate level-minimum)
• Excellent interpersonal skills/Experience working with and leading teams
• Excellent attention to detail
• Must have good computer and interpersonal skills.
• Must have valid GCP and HSP certificates
