EOI TO REFURBISH OLD KALANGALA TOWN COUNCIL (KTC) - WATER INTAKE AND TRANSMISSION LINE IN BUGALA ISLAND - KALANGALA DISTRICT

Kalangala Infrastructure Services (KIS) Ltd (KIS) is a company undertaking critical infrastructure services in Kalangala District under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement with the Government of Uganda (GoU) on Bugala Island, Kalangala District.

THE WORKS
Road Works: Renovation, expansion, and upgrading of the existing water intake and transmission line at Luuku and Bulesswa, Kalangala Town Council. The works include excavation, pipe laying, backfilling, and reinstatement of the affected areas.

Ferry Transport Services: The company operates ferry services between Luuku on the mainland and the islands of Bugala and Bukasa in Kalangala District.

Power Supply Systems: The generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity to the residents of Bugala Island through a hybrid power system.

Water Supply Systems: Rehabilitation, expansion, and operation of water supply systems in Kalangala Town Council (KTC) and other areas on Bugala Island.

Scope of Works: As per the following work description:

1. Renovating the existing water intake at Luuku.
2. Supplying and installing a new water intake pump house, removing materials from the existing pump house, and constructing a new pump house.
3. Supplying and installing two Water  Pumps at the intake.
4. Supplying and laying 2.5 km of HDPE pipes from the intake to the reservoir.
5. Supplying and installing a new Chlorine Dosing System at the intake.
6. Supplying and installing a new control panel at the intake.
7. Testing and commissioning of the new water intake.
8. Any other works necessary to ensure the proper execution of the above key roles.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The company must be a registered entity in Uganda.
• The company must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar works.
• The company must have a minimum annual turnover of UGX 500 million for the last 3 years.
• The company must provide evidence of similar works undertaken in the last 5 years.
• The company must provide a bid security of UGX 10,000,000 (Ten million Uganda Shillings only).
• The company must provide evidence of tax compliance.
• The company must provide evidence of registration with the relevant professional bodies.
