Our client is a Cosmetics manufacturing startup with Offices in Kampala.
Our client is currently in need of a resource to fill the position of Supply Chain Manager, for Uganda. This is a highly strategic role that will be directly reporting to the Executive Director.
Our Ideal Candidate must have the technical ability as well as the skill required for his job. The candidate must have high levels of integrity, be proactive, innovative, structured, and agile with very good commutation skills

- Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
- Experience as a Supply Chain Manager or Procurement Manager preferably in the cosmetics industry
3. Core duties
- Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
- Material planning and forecasting
- Management of all shipping import activities.
- Management of the supply chain team
- Assistance in all important steps for the initial establishment of the company
- Main Responsibilities / Tasks
- Responsible for material planning and forecasting
- Establish and maintain profitable supplier relationships
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Identification of optimal shipment and transportation routes
- Handling of all import activities
- Collaboration with key staff to clarify on specifications and requirements of the products
- Development and maintaining of detailed inventories of materials and supplies
- Development of SOPs and policies for the department
- Develop supplier evaluation system
- Regular reporting to management
- Perform risk management
- Gathering information, conducting research and analysis to evaluate market trends to reduce procurement costs.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Supporting the process of setting-up the local production / company
- Support in additional administrative tasks occurring during the company set up
- Special requirements
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
- Strong communication skills with all stakeholders (verbal and written)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience in managing import activities and freight forwarding
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft 365 Business Central beneficial)
- Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
