JOB DETAILS:
The Stock Controller is responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels within the organization. This role ensures that stock levels are optimized to prevent shortages or overstocking, manages records, and ensures the security and integrity of all physical inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Track incoming and outgoing stock movements using an inventory management system.
- Reconcile physical stock counts with system records on a regular basis (cycle counts/stocktakes).
- Process purchase orders and stock requisitions.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions (GRNs, Delivery Notes, Invoices).
- Prepare inventory reports (turnover, shrinkage, slow-moving stock) for management.
- Investigate and report on inventory discrepancies (overages or shortages).
- Manage documentation for import/export goods (if applicable).
Warehouse Organization:
- Ensure the store/warehouse is organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and other inventory rotation policies.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of materials.
Supplier Coordination:
- Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and order discrepancies.
- Assist the procurement team in evaluating supplier performance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inventory control, stores management, or logistics.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specific ERP systems).
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent numerical skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Integrity and honesty in handling company assets.
