Band 5 Staff Nurse, Evening Nursing Service- 5 hours / week

We are seeking to recruit a Registered nurse to work within the East Team Evening Service covering Berwickshire and Cheviot Localities. They will work within a dynamic and motivated team delivering a variety of care needs alongside the wider health and social care team to patients in their own home. The current developments within Primary Care mean this is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a community setting.

As an Evening Nurse you will continue scheduled visits for the Day teams in your locality and support BECS with unscheduled visits as required during your shift. You will work with a HCSW during your shift.

Experience of working in the Community is desirable but not essential. Applicants must be enthusiastic, caring, having excellent communication skills and be adaptable to working in different environments.

The post will be based in the East Team based at Knoll Health Centre.

The post holder may be required to travel across neighbouring localities to meet service need at times. A driving licence is essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.
