Contract period: August – December 2024 (Renewable based on the probationary

evaluation)

Salary: 1,300,000 -1,700,000 (UGX)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Good Neighbors International Uganda is looking for suitably qualified Ugandan Nationals to fill the position of Sponsorship Department Assistant Manager; To provide technical expertise and leadership skills in sponsorship. The Sponsorship Department Assistant Manager will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:

Main Tasks

  • Plan and manage the process of New Child Intake, Annual Progress Reports (APR), Annual
  • Child letter (ACL) and Gift Money Letter (GML) For all the CDPs at all levels
  • Responsible for managing the dropout rates of the sponsored children for all CDPs
  • Responsible for delegating all department work to the team for effective results
  • Engaged in activities of any kind within the organization as instructed by the country director.
  • Make annual work plan and manage for effectiveness
  • Plan for all distributions for the sponsored children
  • Evaluate SSD activities to ensure effectiveness of the activities
  • Training all managers and supervisors with the necessary information

Documentation

  • Consolidate and submit monthly financial reports in accordance with donor requirements.
  • Preparation and posting of journals.
  • Prepare monthly reports to the country director
  • Liaise with local offices to collect data in a timely manner.
  • As and when required, prepare a financial report for the management.

Prepare project cash flow.

  • Verify the suppliers, third-party providers, and clients and file proper documentation including receipts.
  • Perform any other tasks in accordance with the project expectations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in social works and social administration, public administration and management, Bachelor of Community Psychology or other related fields.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
  • 7 years of relevant professional experience in Sponsorship activities.
  • Able to perform work independently in own field of specialization, equipped with knowledge and experience of multiple disciplines.
  • Previous work experience with international development partners, government, and nongovernment agencies is the most preferable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Local Language: Ateso, Lugwere (Preferred)

Terms & Conditions

  • Full-time (40 working hours per week) and subject to a six-month probationary period.
  • Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience in line with Good Neighbors’

  • Final Terms and Conditions will be discussed at the contract stage.
