CNOOC Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). CNOOC International is one of the largest oil and gas companies in Uganda’s energy sector and owns one-third interests in each of Exploration Areas (EA) EA1/1A, EA2 and Kingfisher. Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.
Job Summary: Support and conduct the company’s safety and quality management activities to ensure that the company’s activities meet the requirements of relevant Safety laws and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support in drafting safety and quality annual plans, which include safety and quality inspection, training, and Audits at the Company level and organize to implement the same.
- Organize safety and quality activities like inspection, training publicity, etc. in line with the Company requirements.
- Prepare accurate departmental Safety and Quality reports on a monthly, quarterly and `annual basis with the onsite data.
- Participate in the onsite safety and quality risk identification & controls.
- Participate in the fire prevention management and assist in establishing fire management procedures like Fire brigade management, equipment and system management, review PM plan.
- Organize the inspection, maintenance and upgrade of fire-fighting equipment.
- Organize and attend Safety\Quality communication-related meetings\workshops and prepare the related presentations.
- Participate in emergency-related drills, inspections, and training according to the emergency plan and perform emergency response activities.
- Conduct incident/accident investigation and analysis of the root cause to prepare incident reports.
- Organize accident case studies and share related good practices with other departments and contractors.
- Assist in performing safety and quality performance evaluation.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Oil and Gas Engineering, Safety/ Quality or the related.
- NEBOSH Certification is an added advantage.
- At least 4 years of working experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of QHSE system making and reviewing.
- Extensive knowledge of Chinese and international QHSE laws, regulations and criteria.
- Extensive knowledge of the process and technology of HSE management.
