A leading construction company specializing in residential apartment buildings seeks a highly skilled and seasoned Site Engineer to join our dynamic team. Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Construction Site Engineer based in Kampala, Uganda. You'll be responsible for overseeing construction projects for multi storied buildings, managing budgets, coordinating with project managers, contractors, and vendors. Additionally, you'll conduct regular site inspections, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and maintain the highest quality standards. Daily reporting will be required to the Project Manager and Consulting Engineer.

Qualifications:
Essential:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience working on multi-story building construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering techniques, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control systems.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
• The ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with team members, contractors, and vendors.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules, as well as monitor and report progress efficiently.
• Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to work independently.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to understand project goals and objectives.
• Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate activities with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.

Site Inspection and Quality Control:
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is progressing according to plans and specifications.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Identify and address any issues or deviations from the project plan.

Construction Supervision:
• Supervise construction activities to ensure they are carried out efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
• Oversee the work of contractors, subcontractors, and laborers on the construction site.
• Manage and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise.

Material and Equipment Management:
• Monitor the delivery and use of construction materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Coordinate the procurement and use of construction equipment and machinery.
• Verify that all materials and equipment comply with project specifications.

Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications,
• and change orders.
• Prepare regular progress reports for project managers and stakeholders.
• Document any issues, changes, or deviations from the project plan.

Budget and Cost Control:
• Assist in monitoring project costs and staying within budget constraints.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report any potential budget overruns.
• Work with project managers to ensure financial goals are met.

Problem Solving:
• Address and resolve technical issues or challenges on the construction site.
• Collaborate with the design team to find solutions to unforeseen problems.
• Propose and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Communication and Stakeholder Management:
• Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular meetings to update team members on project progress and address any concerns.
• Provide clear and concise communication regarding project status, timelines, and potential issues.

Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained before and during construction.
• Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing construction activities.

Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Implement risk management plans to address and minimize project uncertainties.

Timeline:
• Immediate for a minimum of 3 years.

Workplace:
• On-site at Naguru, Kampala

Gross Salary:
• Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
