Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) is a statutory body established by UNMA Act, 2012. The Act empowers UNMA to provide for the control and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.

Job Title :            Senior Internal Auditor (01 position)
Salary Scale:     A5
Reports To :        The Board on strategic matters, and The Executive Director on day-to-day operational matters
Supervises : Internal Auditor

Job Purpose:
To provide an independent and objective assurance services to the Board and Executive Director regarding the resources management, risks, operations and soundness of the Authority.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Head of the Internal Audit Section
• Ensures that planned assignments are conducted in compliance with existing procedures, rules and regulations.
•  Ensures professional conduct and practices of financial management are adhered to.
• Reviews Internal Audit systems and procedures to assess their adequacy and compliance
• Initiates audit assignments and leads team in conducting audit assignments
• Writes/prepares audit reports to the chief executive and /or audit committee
• Ensures that the Authority has sufficient controls for the management of the assets and stores
• Initiates and supervises on spot and special Internal Audit investigations over any matter which may call for such action.
• Performs any other assignment as may be required by the Board and ED

Qualifications and Experience

• An honours Bachelor degree of Finance and Accounting or Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) or Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting option) Bachelor or Business Studies (Accounting option)
•  A Master’s degree in Accounting from a recognized University
• A full professional Accounting/Auditing qualification like CIA or ACCA or CPA or CIMA
• At least 6 years of working experience as an Internal Auditor or equivalent level of Internal Audit work in Government or an equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
• A member of the relevant professional body.
• Age is 30 years and above

iii. Value for money Auditntrol and development of technically sound and scientific meteorological services in Uganda.
