On behalf of our client FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE AUTHORITY, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to work in Uganda.

DIRECTORATE OF INTERNAL AUDIT

JOB TITLE             :             SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR

SALARY SCALE    :               FIA5

REPORTS TO          :               MANAGER INTERNAL AUDIT.

SUPERVISES          :               NONE

JOB PURPOSE

• To assist in conducting routine Internal Audit engagements in accordance with laid regulations and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Prepare a risk-based audit plan for the Internal Audit for onward submission to the Manager Internal Audit;
• Prepare draft quarterly audit reports for onward submission to Manager Internal Audit;
• Evaluate internal controls to assess levels of audit risks and the appropriateness of risk management policies and procedures;
• Follow up internal and external internal audit recommendations to the Authority Management;
• Design and prepare audit programs to ensure achievements of the audit objectives; and
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

A. Qualifications

• An Honours Bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration/Commerce or any other related degree with a bias in Accounting or a Full professional qualification in Accountancy or, Audit obtained from a recognized awarding body.

Experience

• At least 5 (five) years working experience as an Internal Auditor in Government or an equivalent level of experience in audit work from a reputable organization.

Competencies

• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
• Knowledge of best practice; techniques and methodologies relating to Internal Audit;
• Should possess values of the Authority which include; integrity, confidentiality, Accountability, professionalism.
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
• Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
• Works well independently and as part of a team;
• Results oriented;
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with management, Authority Board, and staff.
