Job Summary: The Senior Grants and Partnership Coordinator will support in developing partnerships, identifying funding opportunities, and coordinating the proposal development process and submission. (SHe will be coordinating partnership assessments, updating the WC online platform for grants management, taking the lead in drafting concept notes and proposals and supporting the approval process.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Proposal Writing and Fund Raising

  • Coordinate the process of the concept note and proposal development
  • Donor engagement/portfolio coordination, strengthening and maintenance
  • Conducting research on the funding opportunities relevant to the WC country programme.
  • Update the WC online platform for grants management – RAFIKI
  • Take a lead in partnership assessment

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Master’s degree in international business & development, or equivalent demonstrable experience in proposal development and management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the area of fundraising with institutional donors and grant and partnership management;
  • Knowledge of and experience in humanitarian programmes in Uganda;
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in partnerships with at least 2 of the following donors: European Commission, ECHO, DFID, USG (including USAID and UN agencies; additional experience with other donors such as SIDA, SDC and GAC is desirable;
  • Familiarity with key actors and demonstrated experience in
  • Proven track record in design and writing of winning grant proposals responding to grant solicitations in a limited amount of time; experience with technical programs in child protection, education and or MHPSS an
  • advantage;
  • A good understanding of humanitarian principles and established international standards in humanitarian settings for refugees and other marginalized populations, especially children and youth;
  • Relationship-building, diplomacy and networking skills.
  • Excellent English writing ability and verbal skills for project proposals, reports and communications
  • Ability to work well under pressure with diverse teams from all backgrounds and level
  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of RAFIKI online system is an added advantage
