Job Summary
GS Construction Company is looking for a Senior Geologist to analyze geological data and plan geology-related projects. The role involves visiting sites to study the earth, working on extractions and mining, and collaborating with engineers, geophysicists, and other scientists.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan geology projects (e.g., oil extraction, water pipe construction) and field sampling events.
- Survey sites and create logs (e.g., borehole) and maps using GIS.
- Gather and analyze geological data.
- Coordinate research programs.
- Examine the composition of samples and specimens.
- Measure and test fossils, rocks, soil, ores, and other materials using instruments
- Write reports on findings.
- Conduct quality control on the suitability of materials (e.g., metals for construction).
- Study sites for developments, formations, hazards, and composition.
- Investigate and evaluate natural resource deposits
- Consult on geology-related issues like waste management, resource management, and gas extraction techniques.
- Ensure environmental and other regulations are met in construction and production projects
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field,
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in geological exploration, mainly in gold, heavy metals, and industrial construction materials.
- Expertise in geologic mapping, analysis, and interpretation.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in geological software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of geologists.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
- Geophysical Techniques – Expertise in seismic imaging, gravity surveying, and magnetic surveying.
- Hydrogeology – Understanding groundwater movement, water well design, and monitoring well installation
Additional Skills:
- Geochemistry – Ability to analyze soil, rock, and water samples for chemical composition.
- Environmental Compliance – Knowledge of environmental regulations and remediation methods.
- GIS & Remote Sensing – Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and satellite data interpretation.
- Project Management – Ability to lead geological projects, manage budgets, and coordinate teams.
- Data Analysis & Interpretation – Strong analytical skills for interpreting geological data.
- Field Work & Sampling – Experience in soil drilling, logging, and hydrometric data collection.
- Risk Assessment – Evaluating geological hazards and ensuring safety in construction projects.
- Technical Writing – Ability to document findings and create detailed geological reports
Reporting Structure:
The Admin and HR Manager will report directly to the General manager and collaborate closely with site and office employees and other members of the company’s team.
