We are currently recruiting experienced Senior Completion/ Well Engineer Services on behalf of a major international Company

Location: Uganda   Onshore

Start Date:  01/09/2024

Duration:  31/08/2026 24+ months

 

Dimension
To support 8 rigless units (slickline, coiled tubing, pumping, well testing) after first oil.

Reporting line in organization
Head of Completion & Well Engineering

Activities
• Management of lower Completion contract (10 M$/year).
• Participate in detailed engineering studies of 6 difference completion designs to be implemented on 430 wells over 4.5 years operation.
• Assist in preparation of well intervention programs (50 work over per year) and rigless intervention programs (50 interventions per
year).

Context and environment
There is no equivalent project of such an industrial drilling magnitude in a remote and sensitive area within the Company today.
A Green Field Project, the Tilenga field is to be found in a remote location in UGANDA near lake Albert with particularly sensitive environmental
conditions.
A challenging project; heavy and waxy oils produced from 31 drilling pads, (with some of them located in a national park) and treated in a
Production Center of 200,000bopd oil capacity and 650,000 bld of water treatment capacity. Reservoir pressure maintenance is ensured either
by water injection or by polymer water injection depending on the reservoirs characteristics. The project also includes an extended
interconnecting network with temperature preservation.
Multicultural environment: Contractors are anticipated to be located in various parts of the world. Ugandan rules and regulations,
administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as International codes for onshore plant will apply.
The Tilenga project is also strongly lean on the ability of ESP systems to achieve long life and avoid recurrent costly workovers for ESP changeout.

Accountabilities

Main Missions
The Senior Completion / Well Engineer is responsible to:
• Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to HSE rules with associated implementation and control within his area of
responsibility.
• Participate of the evaluation and clarifications of the Call For Tender and RFQ exercises needed to the smooth running of operations.
• Prepare and QAQC wells AFE (CAPEX and OPEX)
• Perform wells engineering studies and wells software simulations to select best productivity completion design taking into account
complex fluids properties (Waxy and viscous oil).
• Assist the Head of wells engineering for the preparation of the General completion Program.
• Participate in the preparation of well’s SOR in collaboration with drilling engineering team and GSR team, with special focus on well
productivity.
• Assist in preparation of detailed completion programs and issue reports and studies on specific productivity issues (downhole
activation selection, reservoir drawdown).
• Investigate new equipments with Contractors and simplification of artificial lift equipment range.
• Involved in completion, well intervention and rigless operations (day to day with operational people) and identify improvements.
• Assist in preparation of technical input to interactions with authorities and partners.
• Prepare End Of Well Report
• Consolidate lessons learnt in “REX”.
• Participate to the Completion Improvement Process system.
• Participate in HSE audits, Incident investigations, SQMs.
• Assist in preparation of pre-spud meetings and participate in same.
• Assist in preparation of derogation dossiers.
• Mentoring and training of Junior staff.

Qualifications/Experience required:
• Petroleum Industry MSc (or equivalent professional experience)
• Minimum 4 year of experience with ESP systems is compulsory’
• Driven, good team spirit and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to manage the relationship with key stakeholders.
• Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments
