JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Oversee the effective implementation of our programmes in one of our partner districts.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to the Embassy’s strategic, annual and programme planning.
• Support partner district in planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring of programme/project activities.
• Participate in and report on regular field visits to project locations and monitor the implementation of the Embassy supported programmes by the implementing partners.
• Ensure district activities align with established plans and standard operating procedures.
• Support the district and Embassy in its procurement planning and validation of compliance to PPDA Act and Embassy’s financial and operational procedures.
• Represent Embassy in technical meetings at district and Development Partners’s Group levels.
• Ensure programme outputs and outcomes in the partner district are being met in a timely manner.
• Identify opportunities for engagement in relevant thematic areas and build strong networks and relationships across different stakeholders such as Government, development partners and civil society/NGOs.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Embassy’s implementing partners to ensure that its programmes deliver the intended results.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Contribute to Embassy reporting requirements and data collection submitted to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Iceland.
• Provide wider Embassy support and perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Cooperation as required.
Qualifications
• At least Bachelor’s degree level qualification in development studies, social sciences, economics, project management or other relevant discipline; plus postgraduate qualification in relevant disciplines.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in project management in the areas of thematic priorities.
Experience
• Demonstrated experience in result-based monitoring and evaluation.
• Knowledge of all project management cycles, including tools and procedures for project programming, appraisal, implementation, monitoring, review, and evaluation.
• Experience in supporting or managing development programmes and experience of working for international organisation’s or embassies is an advantage.

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Analytical thinking and multitasking abilities.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in diverse and multicultural environment, sometimes under challenging circumstances.
• Active listening skills and proactive and constructive attitude.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel frequently and as requested.
