Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting processes of Masheda Foods Limited, ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and food safety standards. The role will require advanced expertise in financial planning, analysis, and control to support the company’s strategic objectives. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in integrating financial systems with food safety protocols, fostering operational efficiency while upholding the company’s reputation for quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Managing the company’s general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and supported by relevant documentation.
• Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial audits, ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial data.
• Supervising accounts payable and receivable functions, maintaining effective cash flow management.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
• Developing and implementing comprehensive budgets in coordination with departmental heads, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Preparing detailed financial forecasts and variance analyses to support decision-making processes.
• Identifying and recommending cost-saving opportunities to enhance operational efficiency without compromising food safety and quality.
3. Taxation and Regulatory Compliance
• Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of all tax returns by local tax regulations.
• Maintaining compliance with all financial, environmental, and operational regulations related to the food processing industry.
• Liaising with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to address compliance matters.
4. Food Safety and Operational Integration
• Collaborating with the production team to establish financial controls that align with food safety standards, such as HACCP certifications.
• Monitoring and analyzing inventory costs, wastage, and supply chain expenditures, ensuring consistency with food safety practices.
• Supporting the implementation of financial processes that mitigate risks associated with food production and distribution.
5. Leadership and Capacity Building
• Providing leadership to the accounting team by setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and offering mentorship to foster professional growth.
• Designing and delivering financial training programs for non-finance staff to enhance financial awareness and accountability within the organization.
• Promoting ethical practices and adherence to company policies, fostering a culture of integrity and professionalism.
6. Internal Controls and Risk Management
• Developing and implementing robust internal control systems to safeguard the company’s financial assets.

• Conducting regular risk assessments, focusing on financial and operational areas, including food production and safety.
• Recommending and implementing corrective actions to address identified risks or inefficiencies.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or ACCA certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within the food processing or manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMPs, and IFS certifications, and their financial implications.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with crossfunctional teams.
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information.

• Proficient understanding of food safety regulations and their integration with financial systems.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with occasional visits to the processing floor. The Senior Accountant is required to adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols within the factory and demonstrate familiarity with food processing operations.
