JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Job: The School Health Project Manager shall lead and manage health initiatives within the school health program. He/she shall be responsible for involving and collaborating with educators, healthcare providers, parents, and community organizations to implement effective health programs and promote a healthy school environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and evaluate health programs that address the needs of students, including physical health, mental health, nutrition, and wellness initiatives.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with local health organizations, community agencies, and stakeholders to enhance health resources and services available to students and families.
• Lead the process of collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of health programs, identify areas for improvement and prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Provide training and resources for school staff, parents, and students on health-related topics. Facilitate workshops and informational sessions to promote health awareness.
• Assist school management Boards in the development and implementation of school health policies and guidelines in alignment with local, state, subnational and national regulations.
• Manage project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing as needed.
• Advocate for student health needs within the school and community, promoting a holistic approach to education and health.
• Engage parents, teachers, and administrators in health education workshops and events annually, fostering a collaborative approach to health that will extend beyond the school environment and into families and local communities.
• Lead the implementation of Student-Led Health Advocacy Projects, to encourage students participate in health advocacy projects, where they can research and present specific health issues affecting their community.
• Plan and organize Digital Health Literacy Workshops to teaching students how to navigate online health information responsibly.
• Ensure Accountability and Transparency to support evidence-based decision-making and foster trust among all stakeholders.
• Promote continuous professional development and capacity building for both students and educators to equip them with the necessary skills to effectively implement all components of the School Health Program.
• Supervise subordinates and ensure that periodic performance assessments are conducted
• Conduct Training Needs Assessments for project staff to build capacity
• Any other duties assigned.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: School Health Project Manager
Minimum Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Public Health or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, or a related field, and fully registered / licensed with the relevant professional councils.
Additional Training: Relevant certifications in Education, public health or project management (e.g., CHES, PMP) are a plus.
Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, public health, or a related field, preferably in a school or community setting.
