Overview
Job Purpose
Execute sales and distribution.
Ensure the achievement of sales, distribution, availability, visibility, and margin objectives for the territory (within the assigned region).

Specific Skills
• At least 2 years’ experience in sales position in an FMCG

• Direct experience of selling and marketing of FMCGs

• Experience in conducting marketing research and intelligence
• Strong numerical and analytical skills

Responsible For
• Negotiate and take orders from customers through scheduled or periodical visits.
• Ensuring that the trade coverage and visit frequency targets are met according to the agreed customer service level.

• Achieve distribution objectives of product availability, customer service levels, fair trading, stock holding, and stock rotation to ensure the company meets the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

• Manage daily settlement and collection of payments and ensure all monies collected from customers are banked on company-authorized bank accounts on a daily basis.
• Weekly account statement reconciliations MUST be signed off by both sales representatives working in the same van/truck and finally endorsed by the Regional Sales Supervisor before it’s presented to.

• Provide data and maintain accurate records on competitor’s moves and sales volume performance in order to guarantee that the Sales Supervisor, Sales Manager/Project manager, Marketing Manager, and Customer Service Manager are fully informed at all times.
• Manage all assigned funds, Company tools of trade, materials, and equipment in a secure and efficient manner in order to maximize the use of company assets and be fully accountable for reckless damages that occur through negligence.

• Monitor brands performance in the outlets (African Queen’s and competitors’).
• Gather/provide ideas on distribution systems and client negotiation terms.

Key Success FactorsThe most important metrics by which successful performance will be judged are, for respective territory:
• Product availability/ distribution targets
• Customer satisfaction targets
• Distribution financials (e.g. total cost, cost per unit)
Service levelAdditionally, this jobholder shares accountabilities with other areas (for respective territory) in terms of:
• Sales volume
• Market Share
• profitability

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Humanities or any other relevant area of study
