JOB DETAILS:

The Sales Manager will lead the sales function for the dealership and will be responsible for driving vehicle sales, developing customer acquisition strategies, leading the sales team, and ensuring monthly and annual targets are met. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the Ugandan automotive market, with a strong understanding of local consumer behaviour, competitive dynamics, and vehicle financing structures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and implement sales plans in line with company targets
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance across all channels
  • Conduct regular market analysis to stay ahead of trends and competitor activity
  1. Team Leadership & Management
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team
  • Set individual and team targets, provide coaching and performance evaluations
  • Foster a customer-centric and results-driven team culture
  1. Customer Relationship Management
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent follow-up and support
  • Manage key accounts and institutional buyers directly
  • Oversee the CRM system and ensure accurate data capture and usage
  1. Pricing & Promotions
  • Collaborate with the finance team and brand representatives to determine pricing strategies
  • Design local promotional campaigns based on market needs and inventory levels
  1. Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on sales performance and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and manufacturer requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Ugandan automotive sector, including at least 2 years in a management role.

Skills:

  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Deep understanding of local market dynamics, consumer finance, and fleet sales
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

 Desirable Attributes:

  • Existing network of customers and industry contacts within Uganda
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and CRM platforms
  • Strong understanding of vehicle brands, specifications, and competitive positioning
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
