Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is a Boutique HR Advisory Firm that specializes in strategic HR Consulting, Talent Acquisition & Development, Risk Management and Business Process Outsourced Services with our Headquarters based in Uganda and Country Office in Tanzania.

Our client is a prominent Ugandan security firm that was established in 1996, offering comprehensive guard services, technological security (CCTV, biometrics, alarms), investigative support, and cash-in-transit, with a large workforce and nationwide operations from its Jinja headquarters, focusing on securing diverse clients from businesses to agricultural estates. On behalf of Industrial Security Services Limited (ISS), we are seeking a competent and experienced Sales Executive to be based in Jinja, Uganda

Reports To: The General Manager

Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda

Job Summary: The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales of security services and solutions while also managing the collection of outstanding debts from clients. This role requires a strong focus on customer relationship management, effective sales strategies, and outstanding negotiation skills to achieve sales targets and ensure timely debt recovery. The ideal candidate shall be proactive, results-oriented, and capable of balancing sales activities with collection responsibilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Sales

  • Identify and target potential clients within the security sector to generate new business opportunities.
  • Present and promote the organization’s security solutions to prospective clients, understanding their needs and tailoring offerings accordingly.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with leads and clients to convert prospects into sales and maintain relationships with existing clients.
  • Achieve sales targets set by management and report on sales activities, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that enhance sales efforts.

Debt Collection

  • Monitor accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts requiring collection efforts.
  • Initiate contact with clients regarding outstanding debts through calls, emails, and in-person meetings to negotiate payment terms and agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including communications and payment arrangements.
  • Develop and implement collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts and improve cash flow.
  • Work with legal teams and external collection agencies when necessary to recover outstanding debts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Foster strong relationships with clients through effective communication, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their needs and the organization’s offerings.
  • Resolve customer issues and disputes related to service delivery or billing in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Gather client feedback and insights to improve service offerings and overall customer experience.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and debt collection activities, analysing trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a systematic documentation process for all sales and collection activities to ensure compliance and accountability.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably within the security sector or a related industry.
  • Understanding of debt collection or credit control.
  • Strong sales acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage contacts and track sales activities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and the ability to handle challenging conversations regarding debt recovery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving results.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Capable of working effectively and productively with team members.
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Experienced in working in a professional commercial capacity.
  • Ability to maintain strong ethical and professional values.
  • The ability to operate in diverse cultural environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to rapid environmental changes.
  • Proficient in the ability to understand problems, situations and the reasons behind them, crossing the barriers of languages and cultures.
  • Autonomous and results orientated, with a clear determination to succeed.
  • Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

Barriers to Success in Role

  • Limited or lack of knowledge about development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Inability to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
