Job Description
Our client a Ugandan multi-disciplinary construction firm that operates in Civil Construction, water treatment and water supply systems, irrigation systems, EPC projects & procurement of specialized supplies is hiring for two positions of the Sales Engineers.
The successful candidates will work closely with customers, sales teams, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions for Civil Construction, Water Treatment, and related projects.
Responsibilities
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction, oil & gas, irrigation systems, water treatment and power systems.
• Prepare bills of quantities, cost-benefit analysis and tender documentation in accordance with engineering standards and procurement guidelines.
• Attending to customer inquiries, carrying out site visits and making proposals.
• Customer development and retention.
• Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, and contracts.
• Prepare and deliver product presentations and demonstrations.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers, ensuring optimal product solutions.
• Achieve sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction through post-sales support.
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
• Conduct market research and stay updated on market trends, competitors, and technological advancements.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers.
• Preparing Weekly and Monthly sales reports.
• Any other task deemed necessary to accomplish the above.
Qualifications / Skills Requirements
• The applicant should be a Graduate/ seasonally experienced Engineer (2-4 years’ experience) in any engineering discipline from a recognized University.
• 2+ years of experience in a sales or technical role, preferably in water systems, solar or irrigation
• Should be below 30 years of age.
• Ability to understand and explain complex technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
• Excellent written and spoken English, good interpersonal, presentation and commercial skills.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to present engineering solutions effectively.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite.
• A background in presentation design is an added advantage.
• Self-motivated, disciplined and ability to work under minimum supervision is key.
• Should be competent with AutoCAD or related design tools
• Ability to travel within the region to meet clients and explore business opportunities.
