Job Summary

Ensibuuko is building a world-class microfinance platform for lower-tier financial entities. We are on a mission to provide millions of Ugandans and other Africans with access to low-cost and relevant financial services. Over the past 5 years, we have implemented our category-leading microfinance platform, Mobis, for SACCOs (community-owned banks), early-stage microfinance institutions and VSLAs (community savings groups). We currently manage at least 150,000 individual accounts on behalf of these organisations. We are now embarking on a new ambitious journey to get Mobis to 500,000 individual accounts in the next 2 years and drive-up usage of new value added services such as mobile money, bank wallets and micro-insurance that are now available to customers on our platform.

We are currently looking for a Sales Director who will guide the next-level strategy of growth and customer acquisition for our services. You will be a Senior Executive and will be a key contributor to our growth. The ideal candidate will have both strong sales and customer acquisition experience as well as a start-up mind-set.
In broad terms the Sales Director will develop, own and deliver a strategy to drive-up high value sales and retain customers; and manage a team of talent that will deliver on this strategy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategy to drive-up next-level sales for Ensibuuko in Uganda
  • Contribute towards turning our Microfinance Platform into an industry brand in Uganda by participating at industry events and media forums.
  • Develop programs to improve customer retention and loyalty.
  • Identify and manage an A-Class team of talent for Sales and Marketing roles.
  • Explore opportunities to grow our product footprint in new markets.
  • Coordinate with other Senior Executives on the strategy to acquire and retain customers.
You should have:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, with a strong bias towards Sales and marketing.
  • Knowledge of the Microfinance Industry (Even better if you have knowledge of SACCOS and/VSLAs in Uganda)
  • Great people management skills. You can get people to do things they would otherwise not like to do and love it!
  • The love for numbers and data – exhibit the ability to analyse data to make informed sales decisions and to report performance.
  • Go-getter traits. You can navigate ambiguity, perform multiple tasks and independently solve problems.
  • Excellent storytelling skills. You know how to get people interested when you talk.
  • Great connections. You know the people that matter in our industry or know how to get to them.
  • A minimum a completed Bachelor/Undergraduate degree or have a proven record of sales relevant to our industry!
