BRAC Social Enterprise Uganda limited (BSE)

BRAC Social Enterprises (BSE) Uganda Limited was established in 2010 as a not-for-profit venture to produce and distribute quality seeds, planting and stock material to vulnerable communities. BSE operates under BRAC International Enterprises B.V., a fully-owned subsidiary of Stichting BRAC International. BRAC International Enterprises B.V. (BIEBV) is a socially responsible for-profit organization dedicated to scaling impactful and sustainable social enterprises that contribute to the organization’s social mission while generating profits that further support scale and impact. In 2014, BSE transitioned to a fully-fledged commercial enterprise and expanded its services to field crop seeds research and certified seed processing, packaging, sales, marketing and distribution. In support of its social objective to improve employment opportunities, promote good agronomic behaviors and increase income among vulnerable communities, BSE works with smallholder farmers as contract growers (about 45% are women and youth) to produce and multiply quality seeds.

Job Title: Sales Assistant

Location: Anywhere within Uganda

Role Summary

As a Sales Officer, you will be responsible for executing sales on the ERP system, marketing products at shop and to ensure sales and distribution of quality and stock management of certified agro-inputs to agro-dealers and farmers in Uganda.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather market and customer information and assess market potentiality through market survey.
  • Identify and appoint dealers for deeper market penetration and reach in depth market share.
  • Set regional sales target based on the report of market analysis and on the discussion with
  • marketing officer
  • Execute branding activities in the assigned areas.
  • Maintain and develop strong and effective business relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • (dealers, customers, model farmers/ General Farmers, NGO, government bodies, other internal programs and the like)
  • Maintain buffer stocks in the assigned areas.
  • Ensuring the SKU (Stock Keeping units) range availability at key outlets
  • Solving all the issue of dealer and customers for making smooth business relation

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the enterprise’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the enterprise by implementing BRAC International’s Safeguarding Policy, in collaboration with BRAC International’s Gender and Safeguarding team.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Job specifications

  • A qualifying candidate for this position should have a Minimum A level/high school diploma,
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience is in agro-input sales and marketing in Uganda,
  • Should have the ability to get the ’feel' of the market and to convert products into business,
  • Must be a go-getter with high drive and initiative,
  • Highly energetic, motivated, confident candidates with good communication and selling skills,
  • Display team playing attitude to the fullest
  • Honest, transparent and value driven
