Job Summary

We are seeking a driven and proactive Sales and Marketing Assistant to join our small team. In this role, you will apply your sales and marketing expertise to promote herbal and sustainable reproductive health solutions for women, while supporting the reputation and campaign needs of the business.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Content Management

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with the company's marketing goals and objectives.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate platforms to maximize content reach across various channels, including the company website, social media, and email newsletters.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality content, such as blog posts, articles, case studies, and social media updates.
  • Optimize content for search engines to improve visibility and drive organic traffic.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance using tools like Google Analytics and Google Console, generating reports to guide future content improvements.
  • Develop and document marketing strategies and plans that reflect Koola Herbals' long-term goals.
  • Manage Koola Herbals’ brand and messaging across all channels.
  • Prepare, plan, execute, and measure marketing campaigns, reporting on their effectiveness.
  • Oversee all digital marketing efforts, respond to product questions, and suggest product purchases.
  • Use data and analytics tools to track performance and guide decisions.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships to enhance marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to align marketing strategies with Koola Herbals’ goals.

Sales and Lead Generation

  • Develop and refine sales strategies to align with marketing initiatives.
  • Identify and segment target audiences.
  • Craft customer journey emails to nurture leads.
  • Act as a bridge between sales and production or media teams, helping prospects understand how Koola Herbals addresses their challenges.
  • Coordinate demos and workshops.
  • Tailor presentations for different audiences (e.g., influencers vs. retailers).
  • Assist potential customers in evaluating Koola Herbals for their specific use cases.

Sales Operations and CRM

  • Manage the sales pipeline and optimize workflows using tools like ClickUp.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of leads and conversions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to streamline the movement of customers from potential to actual.
  • Implement automation and reporting to improve efficiency.

Customer Support

  • Manage the Helpdesk to provide timely and effective support to clients, ensuring queries are resolved efficiently.
  • Actively manage the FreshSales CRM to track and nurture leads, organize sales, and close deals effectively.
  • Develop and distribute newsletters and marketing emails to engage existing clients and attract new ones.
  • Contact influencers about the product and negotiate content creation and posting schedules to increase awareness.
  • Leverage tools like ClickUp to monitor and prioritize tasks, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Guide the media team operations in Kampala to support Koola Herbals' goals.

About You – Preferred Requirements

  • A relevant bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Some experience in sales in an office or desk setting.
  • Some experience in online marketing.
  • Experience producing and implementing marketing plans that align with business growth strategies.
  • Experience coordinating and delivering events that serve as both awareness-raising and lead generation.
  • Experience managing digital platforms and using tools such as WordPress, MailChimp, Google AdWords, and others.
  • Experience reporting on projects against agreed KPIs.
  • Self-motivation and self-drive to create your own work schedule.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Luganda or any other European language is a bonus.
  • A willingness to learn on the job and flexibility to adapt as market circumstances shift.
