Job Summary: The Safety Officer (Field Safety) is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across all field operations. This role involves conducting inspections, identifying hazards, implementing safety measures, and training teams on safety protocols. The Safety Officer plays a key role in minimizing risks, enforcing compliance, and maintaining a safe working environment on construction sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all field operations comply with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols across all construction and installation sites.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by field teams at all times.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of ongoing projects and construction sites.
- Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures to mitigate risks.
- Address unsafe practices with immediate corrective actions and provide feedback to teams.
- Educate and train field teams on safety protocols, procedures, and emergency responses.
- Organize safety workshops and toolbox talks to keep teams updated on best practices.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and submit regular reports to senior management on safety performance and compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety audits, training sessions, and incidents.
- Review project plans and provide safety-related recommendations during the planning phase.
- Degree or certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in safety management within field operations or construction.
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and compliance within the construction industry.
- Ability to conduct safety training and enforce safety compliance effectively across teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to promote a safety-first culture on-site.
