Job Description/Requirements
Position: Road Safety Coordinator.
Reporting to: Head of EHS
Overview:
The purpose of this role will be to champion the Company’s efforts to implement and sustain a Road Transport Safety Management system.
Responsibilities:
- The duties and responsibilities for this role are as follows: -
- Serve as a subject matter expert for vehicle data recorded data interpretation.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative assessments to identify risks associated with road transport throughout the Company’s .
- Develop action plans as needed. - Conduct assessments and provide support for driving safety activities for Company & Contractor’s drivers. - Monitor incident trends and performroot cause investigations.
- Monitor/research new/existing government & global regulations on road safety and interpret the impact to the region, and support with action plans for delivery on the same
- Develop and deliver insights regarding road safety performance.
- Working with the fleet management and logistics team, monitor and improve Company contractor road safety performance.
- Drive the Defensive Driving Agenda throughout the organization.
Experience & knowledge:
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of in the Company and contractor organizations.
- Basic Knowledge of requirements for vehicle maintenance
- Minimum three years of experience in Garage/ Automobile checks station / SGS checks stations.
- Expert in defensive driving training.
- Good command of the National & International legal requirements in Road Safety Management. Qualifications:
- 4-5 years good working experience in related field
- College degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
- NEBOSH IGC Certification.
- Valid Driving Permit for Heavy trucks (at least 2 year old) will be an added advantage
