About Organisation:
Watoto Church Ministries has experienced exponential growth over the past couple of years, comprising multiple Celebration Centres (Campuses) and diverse Community care initiatives, including Child Care, Neighbourhood, Education, and FM Radio, among others.
Job Summary: We are seeking to recruit a Registered Nurse to support with the day-to-day clinical activities within Baby Watoto, Gulu, to ensure the highest possible medical care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement duties as per medical procedures in line with organisation standards, Baby Watoto Medical Policies, and maintain practice accordingly.
- Participate in daily clinical rounds and ensure that clinical issues are resolved promptly to prioritise infants’ welfare.
- Identify and contain infections early and implement appropriate infection control measures with diligence.
- Participate in infants’ feed calculations and nutritional management of those with malnutrition, under the guidance of the Nurse Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and provide regular clinical updates on infants.
- Participate in health programmes within and outside Watoto as and when a need arises.
- Participate in colleague-led training to maintain a high standard of care and implement evidence-based education and practice.
- Promote good health and hygiene for the infants through regular health-related education to the general staff.
- Assist nannies when other duties allow in feeding, bathing and general baby care.
- Perform daily duties as allocated by Nurse Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution.
- Must be a registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- At least two years’ experience in nursing in a school setting.
- Have a current up-to-date practising license and Knowledge of basic computer software.
- Passionate about community health care with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and have excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to working within standardised guidelines of Nursing care.
