WINKO TECHNOLOGIES (U) LTD is an authorized dealership and exclusive outlet for STIHL power tools in Uganda. STIHL is a German company that manufactures power tools for forestry, landscaping, Agriculture, and Construction. STIHL has its Sales Subsidiary in Nairobi Kenya from where distribution throughout the East African territory is done.
Overview of the Role
To plan and execute sales activities in order to meet agreed targets and sales volumes, manage the WINKO Technologies Ltd network and act as a point of contact for existing and potential customers within Uganda.
The Person
Personality: Self-driven, and self-motivated, results-orientated with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Well-presented and business like. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior management/owners of small to medium enterprises. Should be able to get on with others and be a team player.
Key Responsibilities /Accountabilities:
Sales Pipeline
- Selling products and services using solid arguments to prospective customers
- Maintaining positive business relationships with an existing dealer network to ensure retention and future sales
- Monthly planning of sales targets and reporting to the Managing Director
- Presenting our products and services to potential clients, identifying specific consumer characteristics and recommending ways to promote and sell our products.
- Answer customer questions about features, pricing, and additional services
Sales Promotions
- Plan and implement sales promotions, and product demos in events and exhibitions suited for the product range
- Be able to assemble products and train clients where needed.
- Ensure proper and adequate branding consistent with the branding protocols of WINKO
- Align sales activities with existing and potential market demands in Uganda
Sub-dealer Network
- Manage sub-dealer network to drive results (recruitment, retention and profitability)
- Expand dealer network by finding new dealers (in line with company`s dealer onboarding policy and guidelines) to service untapped or underserviced market segments in the assigned territory
- Search for point of sales for WINKO range of products
- Be a link between the dealer (WINKO) and the company in the assigned territory
- Train sub-dealers on new products as well as customer service skills
- Ensure a harmonious sub-dealership and point of sales network by timely resolution of any dispute.
Business Development
- Identify local business opportunities and challenges
- Performing cost-¬benefit analyses of existing and potential customers
- Recruit and retain customers in collaboration with the existing sub-dealer network
- Work closely with the WINKO team at the showroom to meet individual and group sales quotas
Information Management
- Ability to use data to segment customers and prospects to ensure optimal use of company resources
- Ability to synthesize management information with internal and external stakeholders
- Gather competitor market intelligence and disseminate it to necessary teams/departments
- Build a knowledge asset on the dealers
- Generate and maintain an active database of customers and key contacts
Required Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with specialization in Sales or Marketing
- Highly/Intrinsically motivated to meet sales goals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Sales Rep or in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Resilient with a proven track record in sales
- Computer competent in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Be a holder of a clean driver`s license
- Ready to work long hours and extended travel periods to meet work and customer needs.
