Yalelo (U) Limited is a tilapia fish farm that was established in Uganda in 2019. The farm is located in Butembe, Buikwe district on the shores of Lake Victoria. Yalelo Uganda is a subsidiary of First Wave Group B.V; a Dutch company with a portfolio of aquaculture related assets in Africa. First Wave Group owns and operates Yalelo Zambia, a pioneer of Aquaculture founded in 2011 that has grown quickly to become the leading fish farm in Zambia and among the largest aquaculture farms in Africa.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overall sales targets with a heavy emphasis on developing and sustaining daily sales volumes into Yalelo-owned Shops & Border Depots in the assigned region, thereby securing value addition for the Business. The incumbent is accountable for achieving sales goals and maximizing revenue. This encompasses providing direction and leadership to the sales team to generate new business, retain superior levels of customer satisfaction, and continually expand the company’s market share.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Execution of Shops & Border Depots
- Maximize Revenue: Optimize sales volumes and average selling price (ASP) and minimize product losses to maximize revenue from available production in assigned region.
- Organize Yalelo-owned shops & border depots, ensuring high levels of product knowledge among the salesforce and a full grasp of the commercial pricing
- Demand planning & allocation: Efficiently organize allocation and delivery of product across
- Customer acquisition: Utilize salesforce and network to identify and win new customers as required to meet sales
- Drive continuous improvement across sales processes in order to achieve high levels of coordination and
Customer Relationship Management
- Regularly solicit (and act upon) customer feedback in order to understand their needs and build customer satisfaction and
- Resolve any customer disputes or
- Ensure business dealings and sales logistics are smooth – it should be easy for the market to buy our products!
- Monitor customer purchasing trend and seek to help customers grow their
- Ensure that the broader Yalelo management team truly understands our customers and the key drivers of customer
Strategy Development
- Advise the company’s senior management team and investors on pricing, sales channels, and marketing
- Share key insights relating to market trends, sales climate, consumer product preferences, and competitor actions
- Translate the strategic goals into operational plans to achieve the required targeted growth in sales and profit by identifying & optimizing promotional
- Manage and develop the Team.
- Contribute to a clear definition of roles in the functional spaces where Sales connect with other Company
- Maintain strong, regular, productive communication between own team and other closely related departments, at both a managerial and operational
- Interface efficiently and collaboratively with Finance, Logistics, Security, and Marketing, plus any other departments as
- Monitor expenditures against the budget on a monthly
- In conjunction with HR and the Head of Sales & Marketing, lead organizational planning and recruitment efforts for the relevant positions.
- Create and evaluate against clear, appropriate targets for the sales force and other departmental employees as
- Lead Performance Management programs in line with guidance from
- Actively provide hands-on guidance to help develop team members, and organize formal training plans together with
- Enforce discipline in line with Company
Oversee Compliance in Sales
- Ensure that the sales operations comply with all policies and procedures relating to Security, Health, and Safety and influencing and implementing any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to staff members and the business.
- Ensuring all new shop proposals meet the required return on investment prior to submitting any recommendations to the Head of Sales and Marketing.

- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-Related course (preferred).
- At least 8 years of Sales Management experience in an FMCG or a related industry, which must include 4 years leading a sales
- Proven work experience in a corporate/multinational working
- Action and detail-oriented, having a drive for
- Working knowledge of sales and marketing in a competitive
- Excellent product knowledge with the ability to provide detailed product
- Proven ability to increase profitability through key accounts and put in place an effective revenue cycle
