Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens to join the Uganda Police Force.

POST: PROBATIONER POLICE CONSTABLE (Drivers)
REF: HRM/138/160/01/VOL. 6/25
POSITIONS: 434 VACANCIES
SALARY SCALE: UG SCALE - U7

KEY OUTPUTS
a) Vehicle maintenance.

b) Safe transport of personnel and supplies.
c) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National ID (NIN).

  2. Must have no criminal record.

  3. Must possess a UCE certificate or its equivalent.

  4. Should be ready to undertake the requisite twelve (12) months of Police basic training.

  5. Must be physically and medically fit.

  6. Ready to work for long hours and at times under difficult conditions.

  7. Should be ready to work in any part of the country.

  8. Possess good communication skills.

  9. Must not be a former or serving officer in any of the Forces.

  10. Suitable candidates must possess a valid driving permit with at least 3 years of driving experience for the specific class as indicated in the table below.

HOW TO APPLY
Handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) accompanied by:

  • A photocopy of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).

  • A photocopy of the National ID.

  • Three (3) recent passport-size photographs.

  • A valid driving permit.

  • Recommendation letters from LC1, LCIII, and RDC (from the respective districts of residence).

Applications should be delivered in a file folder to the Police District/Divisional Headquarters not later than 4 July 2025.

NOTE

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

  • Impersonation or presentation of forged documents will lead to arrest and prosecution.

  • Appointment is contingent upon completion of the Police Initial Training.

  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
