About Organisation:

Savior Microfinance Limited (SML) is a microfinance company that is duly registered in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute pre-delinquency measures and maximize collections to maintain portfolio quality.
  • Assess delinquency reasons and implement restructuring or solutioning timely.
  • Perform portfolio monitoring, site visits, and periodic reviews to manage delinquency.
  • Develop repayment schedules, propose restructures, and advise clients on alternative repayment options.
  • Provide legal advice on structuring credit facilities, complex lending transactions, and mitigate legal risks.
  • Support insurance claims, debt recovery, and oversee debts written-off recovery efforts.
  • Act as primary legal contact for credit matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare periodic reports, attend recovery meetings, and provide strategic legal insights.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law; Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice is an added advantage.
  • Enrolled Advocate of the High Court and subordinate Courts.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a law firm or financial institution with banking & finance exposure.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of credit, collections, and recovery policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High integrity, result-oriented, organized, and able to work under minimal supervision.
