Job Description:
As a Reconciliation Accountant, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial reconciliation processes while supporting the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and fostering positive relationships with external partners. Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with Reconciliation Process: Assist in performing regular reconciliations of financial transactions between the ChapChap Africa and its partners. Support senior accountants in comparing records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues under supervision.
- Data Entry and Analysis: Assist in entering financial data into reconciliation systems and spreadsheets. Participate in analyzing financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or irregularities, and provide support in ensuring accuracy and completeness of reconciliation activities.
- Communication Support: Support the accounting team in communicating with internal departments and external partners regarding reconciliation matters. Assist in gathering necessary information and preparing documentation for communication purposes.
- Documentation and Record-keeping: Aid in maintaining detailed documentation of reconciliation processes, procedures, and outcomes. Assist in organizing and filing financial records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Learning and Development: Take initiative in learning about accounting principles, financial statements, and reconciliation processes. Seek guidance from senior team members and actively participate in training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Assistance with Process Improvement: Collaborate with the accounting team to identify opportunities for process improvement in reconciliation activities. Provide support in implementing best practices and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Assist in completing ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors. Take advantage of opportunities to gain exposure to various aspects of accounting and finance within the organization.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least CPA Level 2.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
