The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a government aid agency established in 1991 by the Republic of Korea. KOICA Uganda was founded in 2010 as the official organization for Official Development Assistance (ODA) in Uganda. Its purpose is to enhance the effectiveness of the Republic of Korea's grant aid programs in Uganda by implementing projects in rural development, education, health, and other areas to foster friendly and cooperative relationships, mutual exchanges, and support economic and social growth between the two governments. With Korea's assistance to Uganda amounting to more than 18 million USD, Uganda is considered a key partner country in Africa.
Currently, KOICA is looking for suitably qualified, experienced and motivated persons to fill the following position;
Job title: Receptionist and Office Attendant (1 VACANCY)
Duration: 1 year (Possible extension depending on the performance)
Duty Station: Kampala
Reports to: Country Director

Job Summary:
The Receptionist will be responsible for providing front desk services, including greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, handling mail and office supplies, performing various administrative tasks, and carrying out office cleaning duties to ensure the smooth operation of the office.

Responsibilities:
• Greet visitors and provide a professional and courteous reception service.
• Office Cleaning Responsibilities: Daily cleaning of workstations, meeting rooms, break rooms, and restrooms.
• Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff members.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
• Maintain the reception area and ensure it is tidy and organized.
• Coordinate and schedule meeting rooms and manage meeting arrangements.
• Assist with administrative tasks as required, such as data entry and filing.
• Provide general support to office staff and handle other duties as assigned.

Education: A diploma in office management, secretarial work, or customer service or relevant qualifications.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both oral and written.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Performance Measurement
• Updated and quality communication: Ensure all communications are current, clear, and professional.
• Well-organized and quality filing of project documents: Maintain an organized and systematic filing system for all project-related documents.
• Timely and quality reports: Produce and submit accurate and detailed reports on time.

Level of Compensation
• A gross of up to $350 per month, based on the applicant’s qualifications, inclusive of government tax.
• Medical insurance and NSSF

Contract terms
• The initial three months of the contract are a probationary period, with official employment subject to a performance review.
• The employment contract will be renewed annually, subject to an annual performance review.
