Job Summary:   Tenza Flour Mills is seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Namanve. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and assurance, specifically in the wheat flour milling industry. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of food safety standards, and a commitment to ensuring the highest quality products for our customers.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of raw wheat grain and final flour products.
  • Conduct regular quality checks during the milling process to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO, and other relevant food safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and inspections.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and address areas for improvement in milling and packaging processes.
  • Recommend solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.

Inspection and Testing:

  • Perform tests on wheat flour for parameters such as moisture content, ash content, protein levels, and granulation.
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production staff to implement quality control procedures.
  • Provide training to staff on quality assurance practices and standards.

Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed reports on quality control findings and share insights with management.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and recommend corrective actions.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a quality control role in the wheat flour milling industry.
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
  • Proficiency in laboratory testing techniques for wheat flour.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
