Projects Graduate Traineee

.

The Graduate Trainee in the Projects Team handling the construction at the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), will support the Projects and Construction team in day-to-day activities across various phases of the pipeline construction, including planning, coordination, progress monitoring, quality control, and safety compliance. The position offers the opportunity to gain first-hand experience working on a large-scale construction site and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, environmental and safety experts, and logistics personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in tracking the progress of construction activities to ensure alignment with project schedules and milestones.
  • Support site supervision efforts, including monitoring contractor performance and ensuring adherence to construction plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in regular site inspections and prepare construction progress reports, daily logs, and issue tracking summaries.
  • Help coordinate between different project teams (engineering, HSE, logistics, procurement) to ensure smooth execution of construction tasks.
  • Support in identifying and documenting any delays, risks, or construction issues, and contribute to the development of mitigation measures.
  • Participate in construction meetings, take minutes, and follow up on assigned action points.
  • Assist in the review and management of construction documents such as method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and work permits.
  • Help prepare and update construction schedules, tracking key project activities and resource allocation.

  • Bachelor’s  Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • A strong interest in construction project management, civil engineering, or related fields.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites and participate in field activities.
  •  Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
