JOB DETAILS:
Location: Field Office, Kidepo Valley Conservation Area Landscape
Purpose & Scope of the Role
The Project Officer will work closely with the Project Manager, technical staff, and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of project activities in the Kidepo Valley Conservation Area Landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation
• Plan, coordinate, and implement project activities in collaboration with technical staff and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement day-to-day work plans and operational budgets.
• Conduct stakeholder engagements and collaborate on matters related to project activities.
• Supervise and monitor project activities, ensuring accurate data collection for monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
• Oversee the proper utilization of project assets and resources in alignment with UCF’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure project activities align with approved project plans and budgets.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
• Support and strengthen existing stakeholder networks and collaborations.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and engagements to encourage project ownership and shared goals.
• Ensure strict compliance with project governance policies and UCF standards.
3. Reporting
• Ensure timely collection of data and information for project monitoring and evaluation.
• Work closely with the Communications Manager and M&E Manager to document success stories and share reports internally and externally.
• Prepare and submit monthly activity reports in line with UCF guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Relevant University Degree (e.g., Natural Resources Management, Environmental Studies, Project Management, or related field).
• Experience:
o Minimum 5 years of experience in project implementation and management, stakeholder collaboration, and community engagement.
o Experience working with government entities, development partners, and aid agencies.
o Proven knowledge and experience in the not-for-profit sector, preferably with conservation-focused NGOs.
o Previous experience working in the Karamoja region is highly desirable.

• Strong experience in community engagement and collaboration.
• Effective report writing and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

• Ability to work under minimal supervision in remote areas.
• Passion for conservation and willingness to contribute to project success.
